A free live wildfire map for Central Oregon, built and run by one person in Prineville. It puts every public fire feed for this corner of the state on one page so you can answer a single question quickly: is anything burning near me, and how close is it?

Measured from you, not from a county. Every distance on this page is worked out from your own location to the fire's actual coordinates. Deschutes County alone is about 3,000 square miles, so "a fire in your county" can mean one at the far end of it, or one you can see from the driveway. This page tells you which.

The map covers about 100 miles in every direction from Prineville — Bend, Redmond, Sisters, Madras, La Pine, Sunriver and Warm Springs, all of Crook, Deschutes and Jefferson counties. Coverage is strongest in the middle and thins toward the edge.
